This success
would give them a promising career in music ahead, and hits such
as ‘Can’t Stop’ and ‘Heat of the Moment’, can all be heard on radio
stations that play true R&B music. The album didn’t only promise them
a career it receive platinum status. In 1991, they released a song
called ‘Nights Like This’ for a soundtrack called ‘The Five
Heartbeats’. In 1992, ‘Takin My Time’ was out, they returned with a
confident single, which featured a cover of The Originals ‘Baby I’m
For Real’. The last recording they would have out would be
entitled ‘Reflections’, way back in 1995, this included a song
called ‘Til You Do Me Right’. After 7 split when Mitchell decided to
break away to and pursue his solo career, and continue singing. In
1997, After 7’s was over and the two brothers became the Edmonds
Brothers, performing/releasing the cover of Hall & Oates ‘Sara Smile’.
Since the departchur of Mitchell, the Edmonds Brothers struggled to
keep afloat, so eventually they disappeared from the music world, but
the two have reunion’s, performing in venues for the die hard After 7
fans. Kevin and Melvin both featured with brother Babyface in the
movie Soul Food, they played a role as an R&B group ‘Milestone’,
during the movie the band would sing/perform a track called ‘I Care
About You’. Kevin Edmonds released a solo LP, in 1999, which featured
a single on it called ‘24/7’.
