Biography
Kelly Price

This African American vocalist has sung backgrounds for diverse artists such as Faith Evans, Aretha Franklin and Brian McKnight. She also appeared as a guest vocalist for hit singles like Mariah Carey’s “Fantasy”, The Notorius B.I.G’s “Mo Money Mo Problems” and Whitney Houston’s “Heartbreak Hotel”. Kelly’s debut album, ‘Soul of a Woman’, in 1998 on Island Records, contained her first hit single ‘Friend of Mine’, the remix of this song featured R. Kelly and Ronald Isley. Kelly Price was born April 4th, 1973 in Queens, New York. She one a Grammy for best African American R&B and soul singer, the female flagship on the Def Soul label. Price made her mark as a performer during the 90’s, and in return she lost over 100 pounds to aid her health. ‘Mirror Mirror’ was her second album on Def Soul, in 2000. The cover of Shirley Murdock’s ‘As We Lay’; was a hit in 1983, and Kelly does a stunning cover of this, with soul drenched vocals. There is a song on this album that was produced by Teddy Riley called ‘Love Sets You Free’.

Biography

It features Baby Face, Tamar Braxton, Aaron Hall, Blackstreet, Dru Hill, Case, Montell Jordan, LovHer and Kandice Love. ‘Mirror Mirror’ is by far Kelly Prices’ best album yet, its main focus is on the more soulful musical side of Kelly’s voice, rather than the gospel/R&B sounds you’ll hear on the debut and her latest ‘One Family’, which was issued in 2001, as a Christmas album. Later Kelly Price hit the shelves with ‘Priceless’, again, not as good as ‘Mirror Mirror’ but her stunning vocals are always beautiful to the ear.
