Mint Condition has a huge
discography of successful R&B/Soul albums. Meant To Be (June 11, 1991), Definition of a
Band (September 24, 1996), Life’s Aquarium (November 16, 1999), From the Mint Factory
(October 5, 1993), The Collection: 1991 – 1998 (June 9, 1998), and recently Livin’ The Luxury
Brown (April 26, 2005). They have a massive fan base here in the United Kingdom and also
across the globe. They started in the old school era of R&B, which means there music has
history and there latest is filled with modern styles. Members Stokley (on vocals and drums),
Ricky Kinchen (on bass and lead guitar), Lawrence EL (on piano and keyboards), O’Deal (on
lead and rhythm guitar) and Jeffrey (on saxophone and keyboards), this is the role of each
member of Mint Condition and this shows us they are no commercial R&B group like 112 or
B2K. The group have had a lot of anticipation for this new release, it’s been a six-year hiatus,
and some members have joined other group projects, so there is a lot to be expected from
Mint Condition in the near future. They have also created there own record label called
Cagebird Records, which includes singing new talent and the exciting prospect of releasing
Mint’s highly coveted side project, the experimental Latin Jazz group JOTO which features
Jeffrey, Stokley and Lawrence EL. Surprisingly enough this group remains as strong and
influential as they did since ‘Life’s Aquarium’. They musically have more interesting twists
and turns, with a few Rock/Ballad tracks and some commercial R&B numbers.
