Matthew: How long have you been singing and tell me how you met your singing partner?
Darryl Hatcher: I've been singing for 25 years and being from New Orleans, LA. Work was hard to find because there was so much talent in New Orleans, La. So I decided to seek work outside of the city. I was invited to perform in a Family Reunion in New Roads, La. I almost turn back three times because, my car wasn't running good at all, but we pressed on and we made it there. Tired and frustrated I went ahead and did my thing. The Band was called the Heavy Storm from Baton Rouge, LA, the lead singer invited me to join the band but, I wasn’t sure if they wanted to hire me full-time or not. Because I heard they were looking for a female vocalist.
Patricia Hatcher: 20 years..... I was hired by the same band that Darryl was looking to get with. But, I was hired by the other leader of the band. So, Vince wanted Darryl to work with them and Louis wanted me to work with them. But, I never met Darryl and Darryl never met me. I only heard about him and I'm sure he only heard about me. So finally the night had come for us to meet. We were doing a show at a club called "Brown's Last Chance Lounge". I heard someone say here comes Darryl I saw him from across the street and I thought he was very cute and sexy. Yes I saw all of that at night. To make a long story short. He and Vince sing the song "When Something Is Wrong with My Baby". Darryl sang the second verse and my heart stopped. The rest is history.

So I try to visit him at least once a year and I talk to him every week.
Darryl Hatcher: I enjoy looking at Documentaries, visiting with my kids.
Matthew: Why do you think that major record labels don't want to sign indie soul acts?
Patricia Hatcher: Because, if you can take watered down whiskey and sell for a million bucks why bother with the real thing.
Darryl Hatcher: Most Majors don't feel that there's a market for Soul Music, and most of the young record exec.'s are into selling records what's hot. They don't care about the music they just want to sell records.
Patricia Hatcher: Don't get me wrong, there are a lot of good artist out there some have done their homework in soul music. Some got it and some don't. And there are some Majors out there who realizing that there's more to this Music World than just Hip-Hop, they just haven’t figured out just how to market it.
