Interview
Take 6 [May 3rd 2006]

In 1988, Take 6 released their self titled debut album and over the years continued to make the music, building up a catalog of eleven recordings. "Feels Good" is the outstanding new album and with the help of Chip at Miles High I managed to speak to vocalist member of Take6 and a brother of Brian McKnight , Claude McKnight. This is how it went.

Matthew: How do you feel about the album?
Take 6: We as Take 6 LOVE this new cd..we feel that's it's our absolute best work to date!

Matthew: The music and lyrics are gospel based, talking about god, joy, love, peace etc. When you guys came to writing this album, what did you have in mind?
Take 6: We decided that we wanted all of the songs to have a very personal feel, and mean something to us individually and collectively... meaning........ exposing ourselves in the sense of being transparent in our insecurities/questions/needs/wants.

Matthew: What do you think is the difference in USA Gospel Music and the UK Gospel Music?
Take 6: To be honest I don't know enough about Gospel in the UK to compare the styles.

Matthew: What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?
Take 6: I play a lot of basketball, lift weights, watch movies, read, write songs.

Matthew: Talk to us a bit about our main man Brian McKnight, I hear he is a brother of one member in Take6? What's it like having Mr. McKnight as a brother and a friend?
Take 6: Brian is my brother... the interesting thing is that people ask me all the time "what's it like to have him as my brother"..... he's my brother! We're best of friends..... I don't regard him as someone other than that..... he and I are the same people we've always been… brothers.

Matthew: Thank you for this interview.
Take 6: Thank you too.
